Team Malizia’s skipper Boris Herrmann and the German fashion brand have launched their second collection made of 100% sustainable materials today. Called “No Dye”, this new collection consisting of seven pieces focuses on organic cotton - undyed and naturally beautiful. Together, Boris Herrmann and OLYMP are continuing their joint commitment to sustainability and creating a diverse range of clothing.

 which, like the previous one, is entirely relying on 

. “Following ‘All Nature’ in April this year, we are now bringing 

on the market, a second joint collection based on natural materials made from renewable raw materials”, explains the German offshore sailor. “I am very pleased to see that our idea, which came through our shared passion for sustainability, is once again coming to life.” 

, owner and CEO of OLYMP, explains: “When it comes to sustainability, we have already steered a very consistent course in recent years and already made a great deal of progress in this regard. With our Boris Herrmann x OLYMP collections, we are not only emphasising the responsible design of our range, but also creating further beacons for sustainability”. 

and includes two shirts and one half-zip sweater, a hoodie, an overshirt, a long-sleeved polo and a T-shirt. It is made with organic cotton which is certified according to the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). 

Doing away with the dyeing step allows the individual fine structure and pattern of the natural material to come into its own. In addition, the shortened manufacturing process means that no colouring chemicals are used. This means that the particularly innovative “No Dye” collection fits seamlessly into its overarching production commitment, in which OLYMP already sets high standards for chemical management. 

“It’s about starting with small steps - just like we did when we built our 

 race yacht and used natural fibres where we could”, says 

. “We want to show that it is possible to produce in a more sustainable way, and still have high-quality and performing products. Same in fashion, with many stages in the production chain where sustainability could be improved. If everyone takes small steps, the change will be significant.”

The items from the Boris Herrmann x OLYMP capsule collection can be flexibly combined with each other. This makes this collection the basic configuration for a more sustainable wardrobe, one that only requires a few made-to-last items which may be supplemented with additional garments at any time.

After having been the first German to ever compete in the race, finishing in fifth place in the 2020-2021 edition, Boris Herrmann is taking on the round-the-world solo challenge for the second time. The Team Malizia skipper will also once again collect valuable Ocean data and deploy scientific instruments to help further Ocean and climate research, a part of the team’s sustainability mission

The ambitious strategy behind Green Choice is based on three pillars, namely the use of more sustainable materials, a more environment-friendly production and more sustainable product packaging. Independent seals such as GOTS, OEKO-TEX® MADE IN GREEN and TENCEL

 are a testament to the broad entrepreneurial commitment. The aim is to have converted the whole OLYMP range to Green Choice by 2025. Over 80 percent of the brand’s range already meet these criteria.
